Imposter Syndrome

Graduating from college was both a relieving end to a hardworking chapter and the beginning of new opportunities. With that came the ever-intensifying feeling of imposter syndrome as I sent out resumes, cover letters, and deciding how I would “sell” myself. During the post-application period came the self-doubt and questioning of “Am I enough” and “Will employers see my potential?”. Such thoughts became my inspiration for this piece, capturing the feeling of imposter syndrome….a creative’s ongoing battle.

Comic Book Extract

I've always read comics for leisure, but it was great integrating a passion of mine into a design idea. Inspired by a designer's process of scanning media from magazines to manipulate, I scanned a " The Eternals" comic issue and played around with interesting visuals. On the left, you have a zine-style of character, Sersi. On the right is a manipulated photo paired with some "eye-catching" pair of eyes.

Hair-story

This poster was created out of inspiration from a Black painter’s collection [seen through tiktok] of pieces centered around her interpretation of the elements of “Black Culture”. Specifically one of her pieces titled Hair-story brought about my own interpretation of the term and how it could be told visually.

Beauty With-In:

Inspired by an advertisement, I decided to challenge my early-onset Photoshop skills and recreate this concept of "inner beauty". More specifically this project was done during Black History Month, alluding to inner beauty within one's skin.
